NDCC is deeply disappointed by the decision to remove cheerleading from the Clerc Classic.
NDCC was created to provide an additional opportunity, not to replace the Clerc Classic or any other event. We were neither consulted nor involved in this decision, and we do not support it.
Cheerleaders are athletes who dedicate significant time, discipline, and effort to representing their schools. The growth of one competition should never justify eliminating another. Our athletes deserve more opportunities, not fewer.
NDCC respectfully asks Clerc Classic leadership and participating schools to reconsider this decision and restore cheerleading. We remain ready to collaborate on a solution that honors the Clerc Classic's tradition and supports the Deaf cheerleaders we all serve.
